Musk's boast: "Revolutionary new battery" is just powerpoint

  然而，可能是感觉到此前吹的牛皮过大、给外界造成的预期过高，马斯克紧急澄清，新电池最快2022年大规模量产，尤其是用于Semi、Cybertruck、Roadster的型号。

  马斯克还表示，他预测电池供应短缺的局面在未来数年难以改善，所以仍会加大、且不会削减对松下、LG、宁德时代等供应商电池的采购。

  目前，特斯拉在福蒙特工厂已经有一条新超级电池试验产线，号称有着极佳的性能、能量密度、续航水平等。

  消息公布后，特斯拉股价一度出现7％的下跌。

  At around 4:30 a.m., Tesla will hold a Battery Day event to unveil its own so-called super new battery.

  However, musk urgently clarified that the new battery could be mass-produced as soon as 2022, especially for models of Semi, Cybertruck and Roadster, possibly because he felt the overblown skin and expectations to the outside world were too high.

  Mr Musk also said he did not expect the shortage of batteries to improve in the coming years, so he would increase, and not cut, purchases of batteries from suppliers such as Panasonic, LG and Ningde Times.

  Tesla already has a new superbattery trial production line at its Vermont plant, boasting excellent performance, energy density, and endurance.

  Tesla shares fell as much as 7% on the news.
